On to adventure! It’s time to vanquish the dragon, expose the conspiracy, cross the sea, eat the pudding, or whatever it is you must do in order to prevent the utter destruction of the world. And now, after you’ve vanquished, uncovered, crossed and ate, you can come back home and rest.

“Rest”? Perhaps not, because while you were away all sorts of things went wrong. The king was assassinated and the council of merchants now rules the town, your family was banished to the sewers, and that unused magical sword you sold to the item shop is revealed to be cursed and haunted, and now its new owner wishes to take over the world. What can we say, an adventurer’s life is always filled with, well, adventures.

The following suggestions rely on a party of heroes regularly returning to the same usual steading, or having one of the heroes return to a place where they’ve been away from for a while. These suggestions can be used as the basis for a campaign Front, but that’s not their main intention. When the heroes return to a known location, every change in the status quo helps impart the sense that the world is a dynamic place and things evolve even without the characters’ presence.

Every suggestion has a Dungeon World custom move, based on the advanced move Outstanding Warrants.
